Provence, France

As featured in the National geographic, Provence is one of the top places to visit in France. It has sparked the interest of painters, movie stars and even emperors thanks to its multi dimensional allure. Geographically Provence encompasses 5 departments in the South East of France, which are all remarkably different. Vaucluse, The Var, The Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, The Haute-Alpes and The Bouches-du- Rhone; They range from high peaks, deep forests, large plains and steep sea cliffs, which is why even a native may be confused by a description of “Provence”.

As Bill Bryson the Author of “Essence of Provence” wrote

Like a painting stirred to life by summer wind, Provence is where the simplest of landscapes—poppies dancing in a field outside Roussillon—can turn suddenly sublime.

As natives of Provence, we believe to experience Provence is to…

  • Stay in the hilltop villages, which are quaint sanctuaries hidden from modern life.
  • Take a coffee under the sun and watch the locals go about their daily gossiping.
  • Give in to the temptation and taste Provence in its confectionary.
  • Take time to taste the many local cheeses of which so much love and time is given to perfecting.
  • Find the accompanying local wine for said cheese.
  • Sense the home grown lavender in every sense of the word.
  • Follow in Cézanne’s foot steps and view the inspiration for his paintings in the sublime vistas.
  • Explore the Verdon Gorge
  • Eat outside under the Provençal sky.
  • Cycle your chosen path in any season.
  • Enjoy the sights and sounds of the bustling wildlife.
  • See the Fjords of Provence (The Calanques) of which the locals adore.
  • Find and lose yourself along the way.

Provence offers physical activity, aesthetic and cultural diversity and authentic historical sites. Through the diverse landscapes, village-scapes, tastes and aromas discover your own Provence.
